Empowerment Family will be running sessions about Self talk and regulating big emotions on:

Saturday 6th November at 10am session for 7-11 year olds

Saturday 6th November at 11am for Grade 6 and above

The sessions will be $20 per child per session. Capped at $50 for a family to join.

We will be learning about...how we talk to ourselves matter. How to change unkind or unhelpful thoughts to be something kinder.

We will be learning about how our brains works and how we can stop flipping our lid.

We will learning how to move though big and uncomfortable feelings.

We will be learning some special breathing techniques when we feel very upset or angry to regulate ourselves.

Families have found this course particularly helpful for children and teens impacted by covid and long lockdowns as we also talk about what is in our control and what is out of our control.

This LIVE online workshop will be run on zoom and the session will run for 60 mins. There will also be a workbook of activities you can do with your child after the session to cement their learnings if you choose.

5-Star Reviews from sessions in September and October.

Em: My 8 year old participated in the Wise Wombats course and what a difference it has made to all of our lives! The course was in the morning and in the afternoon he was already using some of the information that he learnt and sharing it with his younger brother. We have been working with him on building his self esteem and how he talks to himself (with constant "I'm an idiot" comments) and after doing the course he commented "The way you talk to yourself is so important" and we have seen a change in the way he talks and haven't heard an "I'm an idiot" since!!! We have also noticed the change in his attitude and the power of "yet" as he approaches day to day tasks. Where he would get frustrated and angry when he couldn't do something or not want to try, he now talks about how he can't do it "yet". Sometimes we have to remind him, but the change mindset and the understanding is amazing after just 1 session with Kat. Kat presented this course in a way that was meaningful to him and in a way that he understood. She gave him strategies he can (and does) use everyday. When I asked him if he would do another course with Kat he said "Absolutely". I explained to him that I was writing a review and asked him what he would say to anyone thinking of doing the course - his response :"It's a very good opportunity for you to learn how to take care of yourself"

Janelle: So it’s been over a week now and watching Molly implement what she learnt in Wise Wombat is fabulous. She is stoping, thinking and responding much more now as before it was straight to reaction. This is great because it reminds me of the importance of this process. The calm that has been adopted from the first session gets all of our family excited for the sessions to come. Kat, your delivery of the material is second to none. You are so good at building connections quickly and creating a very safe space for our kids to learn from you. What you are teaching our kids is what I wish I had learnt as a child/teenager. Thank you for doing what you do and helping us raise happy, confident and self acknowledging leaders of tomorrow. So much love and gratitude for you.

M: The worksheets are printed and going on her bedroom wall. She showed me through the sheets too. Explained it very well in her own words. Molly LOVES you! And asked when she gets to see you again! This is HUGE!! Because it’s been challenging to get her involved with this kind of stuff so thank you thank you thank you! I would say from our perspective, today has been extremely successful for you!
